She grabbed eyeballs for her sizzling avatar in Dum Maaro Dum’s title track… Next, her song is going to be centre of attraction for thousands and thousands spectators in a stadium.

Yes the title track will be officially launched during the India vs South Africa cricket match on March 12, at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. This is done as a part of promotional activity for Rohan Sippy’s movie ‘Dum Maro Dum’, where they will launch Deepika’s item song.

As a matter of fact, Sippy and production banner Fox Star Studios had planned the launch with Deepika performing on the song at the match, that will be attended by more than 45,000 people. Sadly, the dimpled beauty is shooting for Prakash Jha’s ‘Aarakshan’ in Bhopal and doesn't have time to rehearse as she would land only on the day of the event in Nagpur.

The song is said to be dance-oriented and needs to be well-orchestrated with a troupe of dancers. So the makers decided to carry on the launch during the break between the first and second innings.

Rohan is quite disheartened because of his item girl’s absence at such an event and he rues that it would have been exciting if Deepika would have had time to rehearse and perform live in front of the audience. “It would have given the song a new energy. But we understand and have decided to show case the song during half time of this very important match," added the director on a confident note.

In ‘Dum Maro Dum’ Deepika appears only for the title track as an item girl. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Prateik Babbar, Rana Daggubati, Bipasha Basu and Aditya Pancholi.
